25 Years Later…
This Christmas was the first where our kids were really excited about the big ol’ red suited guy making his rounds.
We took a quick trip out the Gaylord Texan Hotel for their annual Christmas Time Ice display. This year was ICE! featuring DreamWorks’ Merry Madagascar.
This Halloween our boys really seemed to get into the spirit. Brayden selected from his many superhero costumes and in the 11th hour decided to dress like Ironman. Blake’s costume cost all of $6 dollars to make and it was a hit. He decided to go as a green Lego.
We took the boys out to the Ballpark in Arlington to their first Major League Baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics.
This week we had a wonderful time getting to visit with family. Aunt Molly and cousin Justus came to town. Justus and Brayden are the same age. It is fun to watch them, along with Blake, become playmates.
A Saturday with nothing scheduled is a rare thing these days.
Most people know how much I love Iowa Hawkeye football. Growing up in Iowa, Hawkeye football was a religion. I’ve been to several bowl games in the past, but last year I missed the Insight Bowl in Phoenix. Well, I wasn’t going to miss it this year. Especially, since it was the same bowl in Phoenix against an Oklahoma Sooner team I’ve seen a lot of living in Big 12 country. I went with my good friend Aaron and we stayed at his good friend Jarod’s house in Phoenix. It was a real quick out and back, one day trip. Jarod set everything up for us and it was awesome. I’m not sure we could thank him enough.
Yes he truly does. He did a good job in checking things off our kids respective lists. For Blake a drum set and microphone. For Brayden a dump truck and a fire truck.
We attended “Dickens on the Square” today in Mckinney, Texas. Other than the fact that it was a cold day outside for us Texans, mid 40s with 15-20 mph winds, we had a wonderful time.
