Yes he truly does. He did a good job in checking things off our kids respective lists. For Blake a drum set and microphone. For Brayden a dump truck and a fire truck. Although, we are not sure about the drum set. If Santa had to listen to those drums being played at all hours, he might have skipped that gift. Then again who am I to question Santa.
This year was a lot of fun for the adults, too! The kids really got into Christmas this year. Now that they are a bit older they were able to anticipate and get excited about Santa’s arrival. They enjoyed the gift opening, even though it called for an intermission before its completion. Of course we adults had to deal with the marathon cleanup. Who knew how much cardboard and wrapping could be generated in such a short amount of time!
Grandma and Grandpa came to help us celebrate. The kids enjoyed putting on a musical show for them with their new instruments: A guitar, the drum set, and a microphone. They also enjoyed playing store with their new market. Blake attached it to the cardboard castle they got to make it more like a restaurant. This way you could “dine in” or order “to go”.
We enjoyed a Christmas lunch and then after nap had the joy of taking the boys to a movie. This was Blake’s second “real movie” and Brayden’s first. We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks “Chipwrecked“. The boys both did a great job of soaking in the movie. Brayden enjoyed the booster seat and the glory of getting to be a “big boy” and going to his first movie. Blake enjoyed the hot dog, well more like the bun, and the previews to all the other movies he hopes to get to see in the next few months.
It was a good time had by all. The best was the fact that the boys learned a little more about the true meaning and spirit of this holiday. Both boys enjoyed talking about “Baby Jesus” and also about giving toys to others.
After our long day we were ready for a long winters nap! Until next year!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
