Today was the beginning of all school things to come for our youngest, Brayden. He entered into the world of structure, learning, and peer interaction.
For him, it was a long time in waiting, having seen his brother form friendships and each week coming home with a backfilled with paper: art and activities. He has asked us many times “when do I get to go to big boy school?” Well, our proud three-year-old has joined the ranks. Confidentially voyaging off to his pre-K 3 class. Mom and dad went to see their baby off on his first day.
As sentimental as that first day maybe for parents he was not having any of that. He didn’t blink an eye when we said goodbye. He had already found the Legos and was nestling in with his peers. He is loving his new transition and keeps asking on off days “do I have school today?” in an optimistic manner.
As a parent, you hope that enthusiasm endures for the next decade-plus.
