The City of Allen had a Twilight Festival at Joe Farmer Recreational Center over the weekend. Even though at 7 pm the temperatures were still 100° plus (just like the entire rest of July) we decided to attend.
They had bounce houses, face painting, and a few small games. The bounce houses were okay. Not very crowded due to the heat which can be good. Blake won a blow up dolphin and a bouncing ball which we gave to his brother Bray. The highlight of the festival was the showing of a movie, “Yogi Bear” at dusk. We were not sure we were going to make it to the movie, but we did. I had been going around all afternoon saying “Hey BooBoo!” so we kind of needed to stay. Actually, the area where the movie was showing was completely shaded with a slight wind and dare I say somewhat cool. We made it about 80% through the movie before both boys decided they had enough. Oh yeah dad was falling asleep too.
