Well another year, another State Fair of Texas. Let’s see, what did we do this year. We started out watching the doberman show. Interesting show, it was more about showmanship than show though. Then we went through the petting zoo area. The petting zoo will be on the kids hit list for several years. Then Blake and Brayden played a carnival game. All I could think about while they were playing was, in 5 to 6 years one carnival game is not going cut it. I’m going broke just thinking about it. After that we were hungry. The kids wanted hot dogs, and there is a dollar hot dog stand at the fair. Very nice. Of course I had to have my Fletchers corn dog. Nothing else says State Fair of Texas like Fletchers.
Once done there we wanted to catch the Bird Show. I had not been in a few years, and this was Blake and Brayden’s first time. The show has not changed much and is very similar to the show at the Dallas Zoo, if not the same. Good show, but we’ve seen it before. Might have to wait a few years to go back, but if the kids ask, I’m sure I can be coerced.
After the bird show we went and ate some real food. Okay fair food, but still good.Then it was off to the carnival rides. Both kids rode a few together, and then Blake rode one by himself and then one with mom. I was camera man as always.
After the rides is was getting late so, we decided to get dessert on the way out. The kids ate push-ups, Judy ate fried pumpkin pie (surprisingly good), and I went for my old favorite, fried snickers. An enjoyable time was had by all.
