Another All Hallow’s Eve has come and gone. As our kids get older the more fun it seems to become. I will be the first to admit our neighborhood helps out a lot. Everyone really gets into the spirit. Haunted houses, yards made into grave sites, grown-ups dressed in full-scale costumes, and music all add to the enjoyment of the night. However, all this “popularity” has a cost in the form of 300-400 trick or treaters. Which means a whole lot of candy. In my mind it is worth it for one night of fun.
This year Blake went as a fire fighter and Brayden went as a clown.
Our pumpkins this year were Blake’s Mr. Grouper from Bubble Guppies, Brayden’s Wow-Wow-Wubzy, and of course my Hawkeye “Tiger Hawk” pumpkin.
Momma did a great job on both Mr. Grouper and Wubzy. My Tiger Hawk did not turn out very good. I guess it kind of compares to how the Hawkeyes are playing right now.
Last year I had to miss Halloween trick or treating with the kids. I was watching the Rangers lose a World Series game. Thankfully, I did not have that same dilemma this year. Darn Rangers, oh wait that is for another post.
Judy and I took the kids trick or treating, while Grandma helped us out by handing out candy to all the ghosts, goblins, witches, etc. who stopped by in our absence. All in all this was a real enjoyable Halloween. The best costume award for this year goes to a homemade Angry Birds one and the worst, probably mine, t-shirt and sweats. You know one of these years I’m going to have to plan ahead.
One more thing, is it bad to have a tummy ache from eating too much of your kids candy while they weren’t looking?
