You hear all sorts of things about these type of events. Just crazy. A quarter of a million people, 100+ degree heat, parking, driving, and mass transits issues. You are just crazy! Well, that I am. Boy was it fun though. I’m not even talking about the parade. I’m just talking about the spectacle of the thing. I have never seen so many people wearing Mavs shirts and Mavs colors. There is just something about being with fans that all have the same gratitude and elation that you have.
The parade, for what’s worth, was not all that grand. We stayed in the west end under the shade of the Book Depository near Dealey Plaza. We did venture down towards the AAC, but when the crowds became too dense we decided to turn around and head back to proven ground. The actual parade itself went by way too quick and there was not enough time between the floats carrying the players.
Now ask me if I care. Fans were cheering none the less and it was this that I will always remember. Cheering for a great sense of accomplishment for a team that truly deserved it. Truly a “Parade of Champions”
Now for the million dollar question, “If the Mavericks have another parade in the future would I go?”
Absolutely!
