The days we have waited for have finally arrived. The days when our two little guys are running around the room to “raceâ€, playing cars together and are learning what it means to be brother’s and friends. For the longest time Blake’s toys were his. Brayden’s were his. The two did not intertwine. Different developmental interests and little interaction. These days, Brayden is enamored by his brother and will engage with and mirror what he does. This includes, but is not limited to, deciding to fling his food on the grounds because his brother temps him to do so.
So, I guess sometimes, there is a down fall to the fact that they are two “partners in crime†but, overall, the pros outweigh the cons.  Tonight was the best.Blake and Brayden had me sit down while they worked together to give me a pretend haircut. Then Blake had Brayden sit down and he gave him a haircut. Brayden played a long and added “thank you very much†for good measure.
Maybe the fact that they are so close in age will allow them to become closer as the years progress. I am sure we will have our days of “Mom!  Blake started it…†but, all those moments in between will make it all worth it.
So, boys.. play on!
