This summer we decided to sign our boys up for swimming lessons. We had heard good things about their instructors and even saw the results in our neighbor’s son the summer before.
We opted to register them for two weeks of a “crash course” intro to swimming. The children were not keen on the idea of getting their faces wet and it can be a bit tough to push our own children as hard as someone else can.
The first three days were tough (crying and begging not to go back). By day four each of them had reached a turning point. We are utterly amazed! They ask about going back all the time. They learned to swim through a hula hoop; underwater. They can go to the bottom to retrieve rings, swim to the side and monkey crawl, and the finale… jump off the diving board in the deep end. We know we will still have to work on keeping their newfound skills sharp but, we are so proud of them and what they have learned. Our swim instructors are miracle workers! The kids are looking forward to lessons next year!
