Rangers! Rangers! Rangers?

I decided to skip trick-or-treating with my kids this year to check something off my “Bucket List”. (Rant: Isn’t it about time we had a new name for this thing called Bucket List, please?) Attend a World Series game - √.

Yes, my friend Ron and I attended Game 4 of the 2010 World Series in Arlington, TX on Sunday October 31st.  A game between my adopted team of 18yrs, the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants. In hind sight I might say that I wished I would have stayed home and gone trick-or-treating, but I can’t. The World Series is just that, the World Series. The main event in Major League Baseball, The Fall Classic. Nothing bigger in baseball. How could I not go? You never know how many chances you are going to get, remember live for the moment.

The Rangers did not win the game (4-0) or the series (4-1), but they did get there and there is something to be said for that. It was a good year, a great run through the playoffs (ask the Yankees), and a poor World Series (Congrats to the Giants!). I wish I could say we will get them next year, but I’m a sports realist. If it was that easy I would have been chasing a firefighter and lemur around all night.  So all I can say for sure is this…

See Ya on Opening Day Rangers!
