Merry Christmas

2025 in Review

Each year at this time, we reflect on all of you, near and far, who have helped to develop the “many chapters” of our lives. You each matter to us and appreciate the ability to stay connected, whether it is in person or through social media, or a yearly card.

This year has been one of beginnings, endings, and future beginnings.

Brian started a new job with Fisher Investments in August. While he liked his prior company, he was thinking forward about changes in technology and our needs down the road, and made a change. Hoping this will be his last place to land as we start to aim towards retirement. We are starting to “dream” a little about what those days might look like…Brian continues to run, and run, and run… He enjoys connecting with his running buddies, and while he does not have a race in mind, he continues putting in the miles.

Blake is now a high school senior! He has spent the past year or so working at La Madeline, a casual French restaurant here in town. He has done a good job of balancing work with school. He is currently working on college applications and finishing a semester of dual credit classes. He will be graduating with his Associate’s degree this upcoming Spring, along with graduating from high school. He is really good with people, and his job working with customers has provided him with valuable practice in dealing with the public and all that entails. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends. He is hoping to narrow down on what college he wants to attend by early Spring, and then we can do some last school tours to make a choice. Blake has been set on wanting to be a dentist, but weighing out the cost of education/years of education, and changes in jobs with AI, and starting to think more about becoming a nurse with the goal to become a nurse practitioner.

Brayden recently turned 16 and is now driving! This has been a “bitter-sweet” change, as mom taxi isn’t really needed anymore, but we enjoy the “Uber-Brayden” aspect of things. He enjoys school, his friends, and all things sports. Most nights, you can find him starting at the gym, then playing pickleball, and later volleyball with friends. It is pretty non-stop. He is also starting to apply for jobs. He is enjoying his business and finance classes and is thinking that it may be a future goal for him. He, like Blake, has done well in school and stays out of trouble, which is good!

Judy has continued working as a psychologist in a private group practice setting. This, combined with overseeing post-doctoral residents, helps to challenge her and break things up a bit. In 2026, she will have been in private practice for 20 years and a psychologist for 25 years!  Time flies! She continues to work full-time for three days.  She also likes the combination of having one day virtual and two days in person, where she provides therapy. She decided to take on a new “mid-life hobby” and is learning to play Mahjong.

With Brian’s change in jobs, travel this year involved a trip to Cancun and Cozumel. Probably the best trip we have had to Mexico, thus far!  Brian and Judy also got to take a trip to Niagara Falls at the beginning of August before Brian started his new position. Niagara was a “bucket list” and worth the wait!  Now with the kids getting older, starting to look forward to a few “adult adventures!”

We wish you all health and a good New Year!  Hope to connect with you in the new year!
