About a year ago my friend Brent told me about the “Build and Grow” program that Lowe’s sponsors. Well my curiosity once again got the best of me. My plan at first was to just take my oldest son Blake. However, once Brayden saw the hammers for the first time I knew this would be a family affair. And so it is, but a great one at that. So far we have built a pin ball machine, a birdhouse, a special mom’s day vase and the bi-plane in the picture. A couple of points of advice for anyone planning on building with their children. First off read the instructions and look at the pictures. Just because it looks simple does not mean it’s easy. Trust me I’ve seen plenty of parents screw it up. Oh wait that was me! Second thing, your kids will get distracted when swinging the hammer, make sure your thumbs and fingers are prepared.
Up next…
I’ll let everyone know how they go, if my thumbs ever recover!
